Meet the Boys: Louie, Frank & Alfie

We’re the sausage squad behind Everything Dachshund—three personalities, one long-backed mission: happy, healthy, back-friendly living. Sniff around, meet the lads, and steal a few tips for your own doxie.

Louie — The Captain

Tan • Smooth coat Role: Timekeeper Superpower: Routine ninja

Louie runs a tight ship—first to the door, first on the ramp, and always on time for dinner. He’s our calm anchor and loves structured walks with plenty of sniff stops.

  • Loves: tidy schedules, snuffle mats, sun patches.
  • Training: rock-solid “wait” and “settle on mat”.
  • Quirk: won’t step off the couch without using the ramp (house rule hero).

Frank — The Gentle Heart

White & Chocolate Dapple • Longhair Role: Cuddle officer Superpower: Beach bum vibes

Frank’s our soft soul and chief cuddler. A sensitive tummy means we keep his diet moderate-fat and do slow food transitions—he thrives on routine and seaside strolls.

  • Loves: lick-mats, breeze-in-fur moments, quiet laps.
  • Training: confidence games, gentle recall on a long line.
  • Quirk: gives the best “are we walking now?” head tilt in Australia.

Alfie — The Ideas Guy

Chocolate & Tan • Longhair Role: Play designer Superpower: Trick machine

Alfie turns breakfast into training. Short, punchy sessions keep his brain buzzing—then it’s on to nosework and puzzle toys (with supervised tug for spice).

  • Loves: shaping games, hide-and-seek, new scents.
  • Training: hand target → loose-lead → tidy heel.
  • Quirk: checks every ramp with one paw tap, just to be sure.

Life with the Boys

Morning: ramp practice, measured breakfast, toilet walk with sniff time. We split meals for back-friendly energy and calmer behaviour.
Day: naps, enrichment rounds (snuffle mats, chews, puzzle feeders), short training bursts—Alfie’s favourite.
Evening: low-impact walk or backyard nosework, dinner in grams, cuddle hour with Frank, lights out with stair gates closed.

Our Back-Friendly Promise: harness-only walks, ramps at all jump points, non-slip runners on slick floors, and monthly body-condition checks. Keeping doxies lean is our love language for long backs.

How we choose gear & food: we prioritise comfort, adjustability, and proof against back strain. Nutrition is measured in calories and grams, treats ≤10% of daily intake, and changes are transitioned over 5–7 days.
